Geodynamics Page
Research overview
I am currently working as part of the underworld (version 2) team at the university of Melbourne as a software developer and postdoctoral researcher. Underworld 2 is a python-friendly version of the Underworld geodynamics code which provides a programmable and flexible front end to all the functionality of the code running in a parallel HPC environment. Structurally the code is a python
front end with a C++
middle layer and a highly efficent C
foundation to do the heavy numerical lifting.
Underworld is an open-source, particle-in-cell finite element code tuned for large-scale geodynamics simulations. It is available for download from github and it's webpage is here.
